IS IT FOR YOU?
Oriental Medicine is a comprehensive system of health care and health maintenance. Much of its techniques, methods and principles were originated thousands of years ago. China is the oldest known civilization known to have writing and therefore, record keeping. Through thousands of years and billions of patients, a great deal has been learned. The miracle of acupuncture is that it uses the same energy that drives the entire universe. Religious people call this energy: “God’s energy”. Scientists call it electro-magnetic energy. TCM practitioners call it “Qi”. When this “Qi “(life force) is abundant and moving smoothly, there will be harmony and health. When the system in the body lacks “Qi” or if the movement of “Qi” is compromised, sickness ensues. All the most common killers of the human being occur when the movement of this “Qi” is blocked. Cancer, Heart Attack, Stroke are all examples of when the movement of this “Qi” is blocked. Acupuncture is fantastic at helping “Qi” to circulate smoothly throughout the body and can be geared to specific areas of the body. It also attracts more “Qi” into the body, similarly to how a metal pole, in a pool, may attract lightening. Acupuncture removes the blockages from the energy pathways within one’s body which cause pain and illness. When balance, energy and vitality are restored to their life force (Qi), the healing of many disorders occurs. Oriental Medicine treats the basic cause of the problem without any of the side effects of Western drugs. “Oriental Medicine functions to promote the body’s ability to heal itself.”
Oriental Medicine encompasses and includes many therapies in its paradigm, the main ones being Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. Also included are: Diet, Nutrition, Lifestyle choices, Tai Qi (martial arts/ physical exercise), Qi Gong ( breath exercise), Tui’na ( massage), and Feng Shui (environmental balance).
Acupuncture is a treatment which involves inserting tiny, disposable, pre-sterilized needles to various parts of the patient’s body to remove blockages and stagnations and to balance their life force energy. It can remedy acute or chronic ailments, relieve pain, enhance recuperative powers, and strengthen the Immune system. Additional adjunct techniques may include Moxabustion , Cupping, Auricular Therapy, Electrical stimulation or even manual manipulation and massage. It is a safe effective procedure, well known for its efficacy and lack of side-effects when administered by a qualified practitioner.
Chinese herbal formulas treat a wide variety of symptoms while stimulating the body’s natural healing process. These individualized complex herbal formulas have exhibited excellent results often with patients who fail to respond to conventional pharmaceutical treatments.
For many hundreds of years Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine have been the Heathcare system of choice throughout the Asian world. In recent years it has become recognized and accepted in the Western world as a successful healthcare system which has skyrocketed in popularity.
